Abstract

IN the course of investigations on certain pests of Brassicas, I observed that in some fields in Thanet the crops were infested with parasitic eelworms of the genus Heterodera. To understand their importance on the crops it was necessary to determine the species; but here I met with difficulties. According to Franklin1 and Jones2, two species attack crucifers: H. schachtii Schmidt and H. cruciferæ Franklin.
