Abstract

THE question how far the development of photo-synthetic activity is concomitant with chlorophyll formation has not been definitely answered; the investigation in higher plants being mainly along two lines: (1) relationship between rates of photosynthesis and chlorophyll formation in leaves in different stages of development; and (2) relationship between the two during the greening of etiolated seedlings.
