Abstract

THIS new periodical provides abundant matter of many-sided botanical interest. When the editor put forward his general scheme there were many who thought it impossible to carry out in a satisfactory manner, but although there is considerable unevenness of treatment there can be no doubt that the result is very satisfactory. Roughly, the idea is to give the most recent information about the four thousand or so institutions concerned with pure or applied botany and the researches of the sixty or seventy thousand botanists-and to do this annually.
