Abstract

THE British School of Archaeology in Egypt J- has widened the scope of its activities, and since 1926 has conducted excavations in the coast plain of south Palestine. For this change there was the excellent reason that the only period of Egyptian history of which even the outlines are obscure is that of the Hyksos conquest; and for this it was in this quarter, whence those conquerors apparently came, that clues were most likely to be found.
