Color Removal from Aqueous Solutions of Humic Substances in the Presence of Praestol and Aluminum Sulfate

Abstract

Color removal from aqueous solutions of humic substances by introducing Praestol (cationic coagulant) in combination with aluminum sulfate (flocculant) was studied as a function of the coagulant and flocculant concentrations, chemical composition of flocculant, its molecular weight, macromolecule conformation in solutions, pH, and the order and time of coagulant and flocculant introduction.
