Samenvatting

Ruim 90% van chronisch zieke mensen zegt goed met zijn ziekte om te kunnen gaan in het dagelijks leven, met hulp van mantelzorgers en/of professionals. Dit is een van de uitkomsten van het NIVEL-rapport Zelfmanagement, wat betekent het voor de patiënt? Chronisch zieken houden graag de touwtjes zelf in handen en roepen daarbij het liefst informele hulp in uit hun naaste omgeving. Lang niet altijd lukt dit.
