Résumé

Cet article expose les tendances actuelles de ce nouveau domaine de recherche qu’est la « philosophie de la psychiatrie » à travers son évolution dans la dernière décade. La première partie se concentre sur le passage d’une approche strictement conceptuelle des thèses issues du savoir psychiatrique à une approche qui prend en compte également les dimensions sociales, pratiques et cliniques de cette discipline. La seconde partie de l’article montre comment l’exigence d’un engagement mutuel de la philosophie et de la psychiatrie a été diversement perçue selon les pays engagés dans le programme de la philosophie de la psychiatrie. L’article s’intéresse en particulier à la France, où l’enthousiasme pour la « nouvelle philosophie de la psychiatrie » n’a pas eu le même retentissement sur la scène philosophique que dans les pays anglophones. Enfin cette contribution montre comment le domaine de la philosophie de la psychiatrie se présente comme un terrain fécond pour de nouvelles formes d’interaction entre la tradition analytique et la tradition continentale, en particulier à partir de la réflexion sur les thèmes de la normativité, du langage et de l’interprétation.

Abstract

This contribution provides a critical outline of the current trends in the field of “philosophy of psychiatry” by following their developments in the last decade. The first part of the paper focuses on the evolution of this field from a strictly conceptual approach to a perspective more attentive to the social, practical, and clinical dimension of psychiatry. The second part of the paper points out that the need of a mutual commitment of philosophy and psychiatry is perceived according to different ways by the countries involved in this research area. The paper deals especially with the case of France, where the enthusiasm for the “new philosophy of psychiatry” has not had the same impact on the philosophical scene as in the English speaking countries. In conclusion, the paper shows that the field of philosophy of psychiatry stands as a fertile ground for new forms of interaction between the analytic, and the continental philosophical traditions. This interaction takes place, more particularly, as regards such topics as normativity, language, and interpretation.

Zusammenfassung

Dieser Beitrag bietet einen kritischen Überblick über die aktuellen Tendenzen im Bereich der „Philosophie der Psychiatrie“ durch ihre Entwicklung in der letzten Dekade. Der erste Teil des Texts konzentriert sich auf die Entwicklung dieses Bereichs: von einem streng konzeptuellen Ansatz bis zu einer Perspektive, die eine stärkere Aufmerksamkeit der sozialen, praktischen und klinischen Dimension schenkt. Im zweiten Teil zeigt man die verschiedenen Art und Weisen an, wie das Bedürfnis einer gegenseitigen Beziehung zwischen Philosophie und Psychiatrie in den Landen aufgefasst wird, die in diesem Forschungsbereich involviert sind. Der Beitrag konzentriert sich insbesondere auf Frankreich, wo die Begeisterung für die „neue Philosophie der Psychiatrie“ eine schwächere Wirkung auf die philosophische Szene als in den englischsprachigen Landen gehabt hat. Abschließend behauptet man, dass der Bereich von der Philosophie der Psychiatrie als eine fruchtbare Interaktionsgelegenheit zwischen der analytischen und der kontinentalen Tradition gelten kann. Insbesondere findet solche Interaktion in Bezug auf Themen wie „Normativität“, „Sprache“ und „Interpretation“ statt.

Ancienne boursière de la Fondation Alexander von Humboldt, elle est aussi chercheuse associée de l’« Innovationszentrum Wissensforschung » de la Technische Universität, Berlin. Elle a publié plusieurs articles sur Michel Foucault et sur l’histoire du mouvement phénoménologique en psychiatrie. Parmi ses publications, Foucault e la Daseinsanalyse : un’indagine metodologica (Milano, Mimesis, 2007) ; l’édition italienne de Ludwig Binswanger, Il sogno (Macerata, Quodlibet, 2009) ; le volume collectif Foucault à Münsterlingen.
