Abstract
Beside pathological grief reactions, the psychological consequences of stillbirth on women and their families can comprise posttraumatic stress symptoms and other psychiatric symptoms, such as affective disorders or anxiety disorders. Moreover, different parental coping-strategies might put pressure on the relationship and further aggravate the adaptation to the loss. A treatment program is presented, which accompanies parents in the acute process of grieving after the loss of their child by stillbirth and which aims to support them in coping with the loss.
