This year marks the 10th anniversary of Acta Geotechnica. Since its launching in 2006, the journal has received significant support from academic and scientific community conducting cutting-edge research and practice in geoengineering. The first few years were a challenge to obtain enough quality papers. However, as the journal’s reputation grew so did the number of contributions from all over the world. From a quarterly publication schedule with about five papers per issue, the journal has since moved to a bimonthly publication schedule with about 15 papers per issue. This inspiring growth in the number and quality of publications has been fueled in part by the journal’s inclusion in Thomas Reuters Journal Citation Reports in 2010, with an initial impact factor of 1.66. Much to our delight, the journal has sustained this growth over the years since that important milestone. As a token of gratitude and appreciation for the goodwill and support that the journal currently enjoys, we have thus decided to bring out a 10th year Anniversary Issue featuring 15 invited contributions to show the breadth and depth of geoengineering research.

We continue to be committed to publishing papers of highest quality, as well as to ensuring that the review process is done on each submitted paper as expeditiously as possible. On behalf of Acta Geotechnica, we hope you find the contents of this 10th Anniversary Issue interesting and enjoyable to read, as well as look forward to receiving your contributions in the near future!
