Abstract
Pigmented villonodular synovitis is a relatively rare disease that usually affects the knee, hip, hand, wrist, foot, ankle, or shoulder joints. Pigmented villonodular synovitis arising from the temporomandibular joint is extremely rare. The common clinical symptoms of pigmented villonodular synovitis are swelling and pain of the joint region. When patients perceive their symptoms and present at a hospital, the lesion has often developed and extensively destroyed its adjacent tissue. In this article, we report a case of pigmented villonodular synovitis, with few clinical symptoms, arising from the temporomandibular joint.
