Nonrecrystallized Granules in a Compacted Monolith from Refractory Nickel Alloys

  • Published:
Metal Science and Heat Treatment Aims and scope

The composition of individual granules that have not undergone recrystallization during hot isostatic pressing (HIP) and possess features of a cast structure typical for granules in the initial condition after sputtering, which are detectable in a compacted monolith from refractory nickel alloys obtained with the help of gasostatic treatment, is studied. Such granules can form due to inhomogeneity of the chemical composition of the original electrode.
