Influence of Micelles of Different Types of Surfactant on the Mechanism of Diphenylamine Oxidation with Potassium Persulfate

Abstract

Data on diphenylamine oxidation with potassium persulfate in aqueous-organic micellar solutions of different surfactants are generalized. The general effects of different surfactants are explained by the fact that different parts of micelles influence particular steps of multistep chemical reactions. This approach will enable one to control the formation rates of the intermediate or final product by making use of reaction specificity.
