Abstract

Bi-axially textured, smooth, uniform, and crack-free Sm0.2Ce0.8 O 1.9−x (SCO) single buffer tapes have been prepared on textured Ni-5 %W alloy substrate by dip coating and slot-die coating methods, respectively, for REBCO(RE=Y, La and other lanthanides)-coated conductors. The influence factors in the preparation of SCO buffers by two methods have been discussed. Each technique has its advantages and disadvantages. This work is going to find a feasible and cost-effective road to fabricate a long coated conductor via all chemical solution deposition (CSD) route.
