Abstract

Nickel ferrite (NiFe2O4) is studied within the mean field approximation. Effects of crystal fields and exchange interactions on its magnetization are reported. NiFe2O4 exhibits ferrimagnetic phase with a second-order transition to paramagnetic phase. A first-order transition is found between magnetic ordered phases at low temperature, and a second-order transition is observed from ordered to disordered phases.
