Abstract

In order to investigate the eddy current loss of metallic building wall which is penetrated by AC busbar, the 3D finite element model has been created, the eddy current loss in a building wall have been analyzed for different operational condition. Through the comparison between the different simulation results, the most important influencing factors on eddy current loss of building wall are analyzed. The simulation results show that the eddy current loss is directly proportional to bulk conductivity and relative permeability, phase sequence of AC busbar and air gap of building wall have little effects on eddy current loss of building wall. Finally, required shielding of AC busbar, which satisfy the design requirement, is proposed.
