Abstract

Bi2Fe4O9/CoFe2O4 (BFO/CFO) composite powders were synthesized via a simple one-step sol–gel method. The phase composition and morphology of the as-synthesized composite powders were characterized by an X-ray diffractometer, a Raman spectrometer and a scanning electron microscopy equipped with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy respectively, The magnetic properties of the composite powders were investigated by a vibrating sample magnetometer. All the composite powders show single-phase-like magnetic hysteresis loops. The results reveal that the saturation magnetization (Ms), the remnant magnetization (Mr), and the coercivity (Hc) all increase with increasing the concentration of CFO.
