To the article “Staged Coalbed Methane Desorption and the Contribution of Each Stage to Productivity,” by Feiying Ma, Yongqing Wang, Haitao Li, Lin Wang, Hui Wang, and Rui Jiang, Vol. 50, No. 4, pp. 344-353, September, 2014.

The following corrections are needed:

    In page 345, the sentence “methane is again adsorbed in the coal matrix in macropores, mesopores, and micropores, which also leads to a reversible desorption process” should read “methane molecules that are adsorbed in the coal matrix macropore, mesopore, and micropore are desorbed in turn.”

    In page 346, in Fig. 1 the unit of Absorbed gas content “m3/m” should be “m3/t”.

  3. 3.

    In page 347, in the expression of K cV′′′” should be “|V ′ ′ ′ |”.

    In page 347, in Fig. 2 the unit of Desorption efficiency “m3/(m·MPa)” should be “m3/(t·MPa)”.

    In page 349, in the second formula “K c ” should be “K s ”.

    In page 349, in Fig. 5 the position of point A is wrong. It should be the intersection of the straight line of K s  = 0 and the curve of K s .

    In page 350, in Fig. 6 the unit of Absorbed gas content “m3/m” should be “m3/t”.
