Zusammenfassung

Hintergrund

Abstract

Background

Incontinence-associated dermatitis (IAD) is defined as superficial inflammation and swelling of the skin. An assessment can be carried out with the German IAD intervention tool (IADIT-D). Until now, no literature-based utilization advice or nursing intervention suggestions for the German scale are available.

Aim

The target was to determine the content validity of the literature-based utilization advice and nursing intervention suggestions for the IADIT-D.

Method

Two independent persons conducted a literature search in the databases CINAHL, Academic Search Premier, PubMed and Cochrane Library. The content validity determination was done by three expert committees (n = 80) in independent group interviews.

Results

The IADIT-D utilization advice and nursing intervention suggestions based on external evidence, include a structured skin care regime for people requiring nursing care with urinary and/or fecal incontinence. A subjective agreement was determined in all group interviews.

Conclusion

The results of the content validity determination suggest that the literature-based utilization advice and nursing intervention suggestions for prevention and treatment of IAD are valid in content.
