The 28th international symposium on paediatric surgical research was held at the Gibson Hotel, Dublin, Ireland from 24 to 26 September 2015. This was a highly successful meeting in which 132 papers on paediatric surgical research were presented. As always, the highlight of the symposium was the Prize Session. There were ten excellent papers presented at this session. The Prem Puri Basic Science Research Prize was awarded to Dr Nana Nakazawa-Tanaka for her presentation on “three-and four-dimensional analysis of altered behavior of enteric neural crest derived cells in the hirschsprung’s disease mouse model”. The Michael Hollwarth Clinical Research Prize was awarded to Dr Christian Tomuschat for his presentation on “reduced expression of voltage-gated Kv11.1 (Herg) K+ channels in Aganglionic Colon in Hirschsprung’s disease”.

The International Board of Paediatric Surgical Research thanks the Dublin team for a highly successful meeting in Dublin.
