An approximate confidence interval for the scale parameter of the gamma distribution based on grouped data

Abstract

This paper discusses interval estimation for the scale parameter, λ, of the gamma distribution based on grouped data. An approximate confidence interval of λ, is proposed. Monte Carlo simulation is also conducted in this article to test the performance of the approximate confidence interval of λ.
