Abstract
Spectrum sensing is the key step of cognitive radio. Cyclostationarity, which mostly comes from carrier frequency, modulation, symbol or chip rate and channel coding, is often considered as a feature to extract man-made signal from the natural noise in spectrum sensing. This paper proposes a novel cyclostationarity-based combination scheme named near-optimum nonparametric combination scheme (NONCS). NONCS is nonparametric so that it has nothing to do with noise power, channel gain and data distribution. NONCS is almost based on the extremum seeking theory so that it is near optimum. Simulation experiments are provided to show the validity and the superiority of the proposed NONCS method.
