Abstract
This paper presents the main results of a market analysis concerning statistical software packages that are available on the Microsoft Windows platform. In addition to the features inherent in the software packages, the numerical accuracy and the computing speed of the programs are considered. Suitable data will be recorded and analyzed with descriptive data analysis methods. Finally, a representation of the market in a twodimensional space is provided.
