Global existence of solutions for a model Boltzmann equation

Abstract

A model recently introduced by Ianiro and Lebowitz is shown to have a global solution for initial data having a finiteH-functional and belonging toL 1 υ (L x ). Methods previously introduced by Tartar to deal with discrete velocity models are used.
