This correction applies to the values of the SAR given in the abstract and page 668.
The formula used to calculate the SAR should be SAR = ρ waterCv(ΔT/δt)/CFe, where ρwater is the water density (1g/cm3), Cv is the heat capacity of water (4.8 JK-1g-1), ΔT/δt (k/sec.) is the slope of the variation of temperature with time measured at the beginning of the heat treatment and CFe is the iron concentration of the sample (g/ml). With this formula, we find a SAR of 63 W/gFe for the magnetosomes synthesized in the absence of iron chelating agent and of 213 W/gFe and 138 W/gFe for the magnetosomes synthesized in the presence of EDTA and rhodamine B respectively.
