Zusammenfassung
Minimalinvasive Methoden haben sich in der letzten Dekade in den verschiedenen Subspezialitäten der Herzchirurgie etabliert und bieten nun eine sichere und effiziente Behandlungsoption für die meisten Patienten. Die Hauptziele der minimalinvasiven Herzchirurgie sind dabei eine Reduktion des chirurgischen Traumas und der Morbidität sowie die Erhöhung der Patientenzufriedenheit und der Patientensicherheit. Nachdem die Methoden in den letzten 10 Jahren kontinuierlich verbessert wurden, konnte anhand zahlreicher Studien gezeigt werden, dass die minimalinvasive Herzchirurgie eine sichere und effektive Methode mit mindestens gleichwertiger, wenn nicht geringerer perioperativer Morbidität und Letalität im Vergleich zur besten verfügbaren konventionellen Methode ist. Die Vorteile für die Patienten reichen dabei von kürzerem Krankenhausaufenthalt mit weniger Schmerzen über eine schnellere Rehabilitation bis zu einem optimalen kosmetischen Ergebnis. Minimalinvasive herzchirurgische Methoden müssen immer als Option für geeignete Patienten in Erwägung gezogen werden, die sich einem herzchirurgischen Eingriff unterziehen.
Abstract
During the last decades, minimally invasive operative techniques have been established in various subspecialties of modern cardiac surgery, offering now safe and efficient alternative treatment options for most of the patients. Those new and innovative options thereby aimed to reduce the operative trauma and perioperative morbidity, and furthermore, to increase patients’ satisfaction and optimize patients’ security. After continuous enhancement of these minimally invasive techniques during the last 10 years, numerous current reports demonstrate minimally invasive cardiac surgery techniques to be safe and efficient, resulting in equal or even better mortality and morbidity compared to conventional cardiac surgery. The underlying benefits of minimally invasive cardiac surgery are characterized by shorter hospital stay, less postoperative pain, accelerated rehabilitation, and superior cosmetic results. Minimally invasive treatment options in cardiac surgery should always be considered for suitable patients.
