Nieuwe EBP-richtlijn delirium

Abstract

Het delirium of delier, binnen de verpleegkunde vaak ‘acuut optredende verwardheid’ genoemd, is een voorbijgaande psychische stoornis op basis van een lichamelijke ontregeling. Hoewel het delier op elke leeftijd kan voorkomen, zijn het voornamelijk ouderen die een verhoogd risico hebben op het ontwikkelen van een delier. Vóór de zomer van dit jaar komt er een nieuwe evidence based richtlijn ‘delirium’ uit op initiatief van de Nederlandse Vereniging voor de Psychiatrie.
