On the gravitational radiation of microscopic systems

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento (1955-1965)

Summary

The properties of electromagnetic and gravitational multipole radiation are compared. The gravitational field and its interaction with matter is treated within the scope of the linearized theory. Application is made to the emission and absorption of gravitons by microscopic systems such as molecules and nuclei. Processes leading to their production and detection are described. The intensity of gravitational radiation resulting from such processes taking place in celestial bodies is determined. The possibility of increasing the graviton flux by stimulated emission is discussed.
