Ultrastructural localization of Na-K-ATPase in the spiral prominence epithelium of the guinea pig

Zusammenfassung

Es wurde mit der von Ernst (1975) beschriebenen Methode die ultrastrukturelle Lokalisation der Na-K-ATPase in der Prominentia spiralis des Meerschweinchens untersucht. Die Enzymaktivität war auf das Oberflächenepithel der Prominentia spiralis beschränkt. Die Befunde werden diskutiert.

Summary

The ultrastructural localization of the phosphatase component of Na-K-ATPase in the guinea pig spiral prominence was studied utilizing p-nitrophenyl phosphate (NPP) as substrate. Na-K-ATPase activity was limited to the epithelial cells. The results are discussed.
