Abstract
Explored was the effect of blowing agent (NH4Cl + NH4F mixtures) on the SHS of α-Si3N4 from a mixture of fine Si powder and α-Si3N4 used as an inert diluent. A prerequisite for a maximal specific surface of resultant Si3N4 powder was found to be perfect homogenization of starting Si-Si3N4 mixtures.
