Abstract
The influence of the electric potential on the creep rate of metal conductors has been investigated. The factors responsible for the variation in the creep rate have been revealed. It has been shown that the electric field localized in a double layer on the surface of the charged conductor leads to lowering the potential barrier separating the elastically and inelastically deformed states.
