Microbiological tests were as follows; blood, urine, and CSF culture; serum serological examinations including herpes simplex virüs (HSV) type 1 and 2, parvovirus B19, Ebstein-Barr virüs (EBV), Chlamydia pneumoniae, and Mycoplasma pneumonia serology; CSF viral PCR tests including HSV type 1 and 2, varicella zoster virus (VZV), cytomegalovirus (CMV), EBV, adenovirus, enterovirus, parechovirus, parvovirus B19, and human herpes virus type 6 and 7; nasopharyngeal swab test including adenovirus, metapneumovirus A and B, parainfluenza viruses 1, 2, 3 and 4, rhinovirus, respiratory syncytial virüs A and B, enterovirus, influenza viruses A, B and C.
