In Chap. 2, the ‘constraint’ refers to ‘an external limitation, reflecting some extrinsically imposed factor that reduces possibilities or options. The ‘attractor’ refers to participants’ tendencies and beliefs to behave in certain ways. The ‘trajectory’ describes the way a translation policy gravitates towards and cycles through different attractors (p.50–51).
In Chap. 2, the nonlinear interaction describes ‘a small change in the initial conditions of a process might result in a vastly different trajectory’ (p.52).
