Abstract
Silver doped cadmium titanate nanoparticles were successfully synthesized by via a auto-combustion sol–gel method with the aid of cadmium nitrate and tetra-n-butyl titanate, silver nitrate and cetyl alcohol. The structural, morphological and optical properties of as obtained products were characterized by techniques such X-ray diffraction, energy dispersive X-ray microanalysis, scanning electron microscopy and ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy. The magnetic properties of as-prepared cadmium titanate nanoparticles were also investigated with vibrating sample magnetometer. Furthermore, to examine the solar cell application of as-synthesized Ag-CdTiO3 nanoparticles, FTO/TiO2/Ag-CdTiO3/Pt-FTO structure was created by deposited Ag-CdTiO3 film on top of the TiO2 layer.
