Improved forms of Fielek model and their application to fcc non simple metals

Abstract

Five improved and simplified versions of Fielek model are developed systematically so as to arrive at conclusions regarding the nature of interactions coupling the various constituents of fcc non simple metals like gold and thorium. Equilibrium conditions are derived to explain the important responsive role played by the electrons occupyingd-shell and conduction bands. Cohesion, Cauchy’s deviation, anisotropy and characterised phonon dispersion exhibited by the said class of complicated metals are explained.
