Mycoses: une contribution quant à leur importance en endoscopie

Résumé

Il est extrêmement rare au cours d’une œsophagogastro-duodénoscopie de déceler macroscopiquement la présence de champignons. Par contre, au moyen de méthodes culturelles, il est possible, chez un nombre étonnant de patients soumis à l’endoscopie, de trouver des champignons du genre Candida. La différentiation nous montre qu’il s’agit ici seulement des espèces pathogènes Candida albicans, Candida tropicalis et Candida krusei. Nous insistons sur l’importance de ce résultat pour la gastroscopie et sur le danger d’un transfert possible d’un patient à l’autre.

Summary

The obvious mycosis infection is rare in endoscopy of the upper gastrointestinal tract. If additionally cultural methods are used at time of endoscopy a surprising high number of patients have fungi of the genus Candida. Differentiation showed that only the pathogenic yeasts Candida albicans, Candida tropicalis and Candida Krusei were present. The significance of these findings for gastroscopy is discussed considering the possible spread of mycosis by endoscopic upper gastrointestinal-tract examinations.
