Abstract

The design, analysis and testing methods of theAryabhata satellite structure are briefly presented. The general requirements and constraints which formed the basis of the design of the structure are explained. The theoretical and experimental studies conducted to evaluate the structural behaviour under various environmental loads expected during ground operations and during flight are also described. The salient features of the fabrication procedures and the details of physical parameters are presented. Finally the evaluation of the structure is made on the basis of the results of ground tests and the flight performance.
