Summary

The DNA synthesis in glial cells during experimental brain edema following extradural compression was studied autoradiographically with H3-thymidine. Extensive proliferation of the neuroglia (mainly oligodendrocytes) was observed in the edematous white matter during the early stages of the experiment with the maximum on the 2nd day.
