Summary
We studied the placentas from 103 embryonal and 86 fetal abortions for abnormalities. Disturbances of placental development were divided into disorders of placental implantation and disorders of placental growth. Disorders of placental implantation were: abortive ova, hydatiform mole, partial mole, and vascular disturbances (Chorangiosis placentae).
Disorders of placental growth (placentation) were generally found in abortions between the 4th and 6th month of gestation. We found disseminated persistence of embryonal villi, discordant maturity of villous structures and disorders of ramification; a special form was the intercalar defect of ramification.
In abortions with retained products of conception secondary alterations of the villous structures were found. Three different stages could be defined. Among these stages the mole-like degeneration of the villi represent a special form of secondary alterations in embryonal abortion.
Zusammenfassung
Lemtis, 1965; Thomsen, 1955).
