Abstract

This chapter introduces the exploration and development of the Shuang 6 reservoir, the design of the rebuilding of the gas storage facility after the depletion, and the operation of the gas storage facility. The Shuang 6 gas reservoir was put into development in 1980 and was nearly exhausted in 2008, with a total gas production of 51.63 × 108 m3 and a cumulative oil production of 171.25 × 104 t. The natural gas recovery degree was 70%, and the crude oil recovery degree was 24%. The total water invasion volume was 836 × 104 m3, and the water invasion volume accounted for 24% of the hydrocarbon volume. The material balance method was used to deduct the damage caused by the water invasion from the storage capacity. The designed storage capacity was 36 × 108 m3, and the working gas volume was 16 × 108 m3. Since gas injection began in April 2014, the Shuang 6 gas storage facility has injected a cumulative total of 67.2 × 108 m3 and has produced a cumulative total of 25.2 × 108 m3, playing an important role in regional natural gas peak regulation and supply protection.
