Ultrastructure of the Egg Envelopes of a Uropodid Mite

  • Conference paper
Proceedings of the 3rd International Congress of Acarology

Abstract

During the course of a continuing investigation relating to the effects of environmental factors upon hatching in the eggs of a mite prey and its mite predator, an examination of the microscopic and ultra structure of the membranes surrounding the developing embryo of the predator was undertaken. The purpose was to determine the nature of these membranes and the changes in them during the period of incubation.
