Purpose of Drugs

  • Chapter
The Use of Drugs

Abstract

Pharmacology is the basic science of drugs; therapeutics is the practical science of how these drugs are used in the treatment of disease. These are fundamental subjects in the art of healing. Many students approach them with fear and trepidation, thinking them exceedingly difficult to understand. While these subjects can be made to appear complex and bewildering, these are also practical subjects, which for our purposes need not be made more strange or difficult than many everyday matters.
