Zusammenfassung
Journalismus ist ein zentrales Feld Visueller Kommunikationsforschung. Der Beitrag gibt einen Überblick über das Feld (foto-)journalistischer Bildkommunikation und stellt theoretische Perspektiven und Befunde zu den Strukturen, Arbeitsweisen und Routinen fotojournalistischer Bildproduktion und -distribution sowie zu Normen journalistischer Bildpublikation vor. Das Feld durchlebt aktuell unter Bedingungen der Digitalisierung tief greifende Veränderungen, die sowohl die Praxis als auch die Visuelle Kommunikationsforschung herausfordern.
