Zusammenfassung
Damit das Herz unter acuter und chronischer Belastung aeine Aufgabe die Perpherie mit genügend Blut zu versorgen, erfüllen kann, stehen ihm Kompensationsmechanismen zur Verfügung. Die letztjährige Nauheimer Tagung hatte die Adaptation des gesunden und kranken Herzens bei akuter körperlicher Belastung zum Hauptthema (8, 22, 24, 26). Heute wollen wir denjenigen Mechanismus besprechen, den das Herz bei chronischer Belastung zusätzlich einsetzen kann, um die Pumpfunktion aufrecht zu halten, nämlich die Ausbildung einer Myokardhypertropie. Einschränkend muß allerdings erwähnt werden, daß nicht jede Myokardhypertropie die folge einer chronischen ürbermäßigen mechanischen Beanspruchung im Sinne einer Druck- oder Volumenbelastung ist, sondern daß sowohl bei Tieren, z. B. bei gewissen Hamsterstämmen (1), als auch in der klinik idiopathische Myokardhypertrophien (20) bekannt sind.
