Zusammenfassung
Praktisch alle modernen Systematiker trennen die alten Aizoaceen in wenigstens zwei Familien auf, Aizoaceen im engen Sinne (mit Betalainen) und Molluginaceae (ohne Betalaine). Bei weiterer Einschränkung (z. B. Ausgliederung der Tetragoniaceae) des Umfanges der Aizoaceae s. str. verbleiben schlußendlich die Mesembryanthemaceae, für welche eine prächtige Bearbeitung vorliegt (1). Die Gattungen Glinus und Mollugo sind nicht scharf getrennt (Nomenklatur unübersichtlich).
