Abstract

This work presents a model to produce user-oriented virtual reality scenarios, this type of scenario produced focuses on the user being able to be trained to drive unmanned vehicles (UAV) such as drones. The cost of drones and the costs associated with their operation (fuel, maintenance, training personnel, etc.) are much lower than those incurred by the operation of manned aircraft. Due to this, the adoption of the use of drones in different domains has increased, particularly in the industry. This brings with it a series of difficulties that must be considered when using these vehicles, such as the correct operation by the user. To face this perspective, a model is proposed to produce user-centered virtual reality scenarios. The design of tasks is considered as a fundamental part, the elements of the virtual reality environment, and the types of user interaction, with the aim of having the virtual reality scenarios according to the user’s needs. The main actor in this model are UAV pilots. The main objective of the model is that the user can be trained so that he can control a UAV through different user tasks. Finally, a virtual reality scenario is presented as an implementation of the model to initiate users in the flight of drones.
