Evidence-Based Laryngology

Abstract

Vocal fold nodules are the most common organic laryngeal pathology seen in professional voice users and voice patients overall, identified in 15% of patients presenting with dysphonia. They are defined as bilateral phonotraumatic lesions that respond to voice therapy. This chapter reviews the evidence basis for the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment of vocal fold nodules.
