Abstract

In recent years, on the analogy of the hormonal background of sexual differentiation, attempts have been made to analyse the postnatal influence of adrenocortical hormones on the maturation of the psychoneuroendocrine processes. The influence of adrenocortical hormones as well as ACTH on the central nervous system have widely been studied in adult animals (Cleghorn 1957, Lissák and Endrőczi 1960, de Wied 1966, 1969).
