Abstract
The pairing vibration mode is associated to pairing correlations in nuclei [1] and there is rich information about its existence in even-even nuclei. It is connected to fluctuations of the pairing gap parameter Δ around its ground state value. The collectivity of this excitation mode is reflected in the cross section for the population of some 0+ and 2+ states in two like nucleon transfer reactions, which are strongly enhanced upon the two-particle estimate. To learn more about the underlying fermionic structure of a collective mode, one should study both its coupling with single-particle (fermionic) degrees of freedom, and the multiphonon states and their anharmonicities.
