Abstract

In this chapter, speech corpora that are used in our work are presented and compared including recording settings and transcription conventions. Basically, we made use of three speech corpora, one corpus for Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) and two corpora for dialectal Arabic. The two Arabic dialects that have been chosen in this research are Egyptian Colloquial Arabic (ECA) and Levantine Colloquial Arabic (LCA).
