Abstract
Living things grow and develop. How fundamental is that observation to human experience! Well before the child knows what planets or atoms are, he is made aware of changes within himself and in the living things that surround him. Growth and development, so readily observable, are among the first concepts to establish themselves in the juvenile mind.
